Our large activities team provide a varied programme of creative hobbies and entertainment to suit all interests and levels of mobility. From music and movement, arts and crafts to themed days, quizzes and ‘pets as therapy’ sessions, we ensure there is something for everyone to look forward to every day.

At Somerleigh Court our expert chefs produce delicious, home-cooked meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients to support our residents’ health and wellbeing.
Our menus are thoughtfully planned to produce a wide variety of traditional favourites and contemporary dishes, all prepared to the highest standards and beautifully presented. Residents can choose from a number of daily options, including roasts, fresh fish, and vegetarian alternatives, complemented by fresh vegetables and home-baked treats. We also cater for gluten-free and diabetic-friendly options as well as all allergies.
Residents can eat in their rooms or if they would prefer a more social occasion, they can eat with friends in the communal dining areas. Uniquely, Somerleigh Court has a singing kitchen assistant who brings a joyful touch to mealtimes. Snacks and drinks are provided throughout the day.
Facilities
Somerleigh Court Nursing Home is purpose-built and has 40 generously-sized rooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, TV, telephone and wi-fi facilities. All rooms are furnished but residents are welcome to bring their own furniture, pictures or ornaments to ensure they feel at home.
There is plenty of space for relaxing and socialising with separate lounges on each floor as well as communal terraces outside. The home has extensive gardens, including a popular sensory garden.
There is lift and wheelchair access and the home has its own hairdressing salon.
Somerleigh Court is close to Dorchester town centre with easy access to shops. Local bus services and both of Dorchester’s train stations are within walking distance of the home.
